What is a Composite Door?
Unlike timber doors (made from wood), and uPVC doors, (made from unplasticised polyvinyl chloride), Composite Doors are made from several materials including wood, PVC, glass (GPR) and insulating foam.
The result, a well made modern door which has been designed to look like wood (with an attractive wood grain finish).

The Endurance Door is designed and built to last and one of the important features that ensure its durability is the Integrated Moisture Barrier Strip.
Found at the foot of the Endurance door, this protects the timber core at the heart of the door from water, therefore eliminating the risk of the door sticking or swelling.
Secured By Design
The Endurance Door adheres to the standard set by the UK Police known as Secured by Design.
It achieves this standard by utilising a 3-star Federal High-Security UCF Federal locking cylinder and laminated glass panelling.
Comprehensive, in-depth testing has been used to simulate a variety of techniques a burglar may use to break into your home, such as:
- A direct attack on the door’s locking hardware, using mole grips and a crowbar
- Limitless number of 3-minute door cylinder attacks using a range of tools including craft knives and screwdrivers
- Manual attacks lasting for 3-minutes on the door using brick bolsters and chisels
- Test against hard impacts, using a steel impactor weighing 50kg at the locking points and hinges

How much does a composite door cost?
Every composite door we fit is made to measure, so there is no single price. What you pay comes down to the style you choose, the glazing, the colour and the door furniture.
The opening matters too. A straight swap into a sound existing frame costs less than a job where the frame needs replacing, and a wider than standard opening or a door with side panels will be more than a single door.
The only way to know what your door will cost is to have it measured and priced properly. We do that free of charge and without obligation, and the figure we quote is the figure you pay.

How long does a composite door last?
A well fitted composite door should give you 30 years or more. The Endurance doors we fit are built around a 48mm solid timber core, which is what gives them their strength and their lifespan.
Are composite doors secure?
Yes, and measurably so. The Endurance range we install is Secured by Design accredited, which is the police approved standard for security in the UK. Combined with a multi point locking system, a composite door is one of the most secure options you can fit to a home.
Do composite doors need painting?
No. The colour runs through the outer skin rather than sitting on top of it, so there is nothing to flake or peel. A wipe down with warm soapy water two or three times a year is all the maintenance they need.
Do composite doors fade in the sun?
Modern composite doors are UV stable, so they hold their colour far better than a painted timber door. Darker colours will always weather slightly more than lighter ones over many years, but you should not see the fading you would get with paint.
Can I get a composite door in any colour?
There is a wide range to choose from, including the traditional blues, greens and reds as well as greys and blacks. You can also specify a different colour inside and out, so the door matches your hallway as well as the front of the house.
How long does fitting take?
A straightforward door replacement is usually done in a day. If the frame needs changing or there is making good to do around the opening, allow a little longer. We will tell you what to expect when we measure up.
